October 1, 2007

Well, the ratings are in for the Atlantis’s season premiere, Adrift, and it looks like Rob’s cold realism won out over Brad’s bright optimism. We’ve done better. On the other hand, we did very well in some key demographics. So, is this good or bad news? Uh, both? Sure, people will find different ways to spin it - some doom and gloom here, a silver lining there - but, at the end of the day, all that matters is did we get that fifth season pick-up or not? No word on that yet and I’m still hopeful but, just in case, I wonder if Fondy may need a stock boy at her pet boutique.

Speaking of results, the final votes have been tabulated for the upcoming Joe’s Book of the Month Club. Beginning the end of this month, we will be discussing Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle’s The Legacy of Heorot and Stephen R. Donaldson’s Lord Foul’s Bane. All you leisurely readers should get started now.

Today’s pics: Joe on set, the guitar Jason gave Joe, the doddering old coot who was shuffling around the production offices earlier this morning.

Today’s video: The crew photo wraps. Geez, who knew this many people worked on the show!

Questions and comments have been piling up…

Kdvb1 writes: “Ouch! I probably shouldn't have told him you said that as we both attended U.S.F.!”

Answer: When I made my prediction, I wasn’t aware West Virginia would be playing your Bulls. As I mentioned in a previous entry, Carl and I had a great time watching SFU upset Auburn a couple of weeks back and they are for real.

Charles Schneider writes: “What sort of rigmarole did you have to go through to get clearance to put outtakes and deleted scenes in future DVD releases? […] I know you have to not only get clearance from the powers that be, but also from any actor who appears in the deleted scene. Did some of the actors not feel comfortable showing their "messed up" takes?”

Answer: Deleted scenes aren’t at issue but outtakes are a little more complicated and may, in fact, necessitate the individual actors signing off on them. So, in the event certain actors do not appear in the outtake special feature we’re planning, you’ll know why.

Anonymous #2 writes: “You've said you'd like to have Michael (Shanks) on the show; what about Ben Browder? Or are you not a Mitchell fan?”

Answer: I like the Mitchell character a lot and would love to have him do a guest spot. But Daniel would be a priority given his connection to Atlantis.

GaterVic writes: “How did you work out the no gravity close-up scenes -was that all green screen & wires?”

Answer: Yep.

Firefly827347 writes: “Is "Levine", by any chance, named after dear Alex?”

Answer: Yes.

Majorsal writes: “were amanda, david, joe, rachel, and jason at the party too?”

Answer: Yes, they were.

Promogirl writes: “I love the way you guys are shooting the show so much darker this season. It just makes all the colors look so... Lush.”

Answer: Check out Tabula Rasa for a very unique-looking episode.

Aire writes: “I saw Old Man's War at a bookstore today, and picked it up after remembering that you'd recommened it to someone a while back. […] It looks like the first in a trilogy though. Is it possible to read it as a stand alone? I also found some of the books in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. Can any of them be read as stand alones as well?”

Answer: Although reading them in order would be preferable, the individual books are stand alones so you can read them in any order.

Brains103 writes: “Who all gets invited to wrap parties like these? (other than cast and crew and writers and producers)”

Answer: Their dates.

Ouch on the ratings... still, I think that the advent of Hey Nielsen! can only bode well for Altantis.

Am still not sure if they pick ratings from Skyboxes, but I'll be tuning in to the premiere over here anyway!

Good thing I went with my intuition, Legacy of Heorot is in the mail as of two days ago! :)

Am also starting Consider Phlebas this week... have no idea whether it's the best Banks to start with, but I have no one else for reference so I'm taking a stab at it based on your glowing review!

Fingers crosses for a season 5 pick up.

Sorry to hear about the mixed news on the ratings... hope the overall numbers (as well as those nice key demographics) pick up - and soon! Any chance you could let us know the actual numbers?

I'm crossing everything I've got for a Season 5.. so excuse any mistaies in this post, it's hard to type with your eyes crossed...

Dear Joe,

I so much prefer the "silver lining" outlook on the ratings and look forward to season 5 should it be gifted to us by the powers that be.

God luck and I just know this will be a good year - after all, look who is involved!

Being an Alabama fan (roll Tide!), (heck, I'm from Mobile!) I would prefer to not be impressed by Auburn's record - on that one point, we differ!!

How long did it take to take the crew photo? I remember taking the senior class picture in high school. There were around 300 of us and it seemed to take forever. (Not that I minded.)

WOW!! first again!! Really need to concentrate on writing more of my novel, but you make you blog so ... so inviting. I need to be stronger and resist temptations!! ;)

It is being reported that Joe Flanigan has won an award for Best Actor in Television Genre, if this is true, please pass on the congratulations of all at JoeFlaniganOnline and Everything_Joe. Nice to see that he is getting some well deserved recognition.

Joe,

Shameless plug, but can't resist:

For my reviews of Season 4 don't forget to check out my blog. For a unique perspective and a look at my interests along with a little Atlantis love, my humble space awaits (not to mention my twisted mind...)

The pictures look like another loon who likes to, ahem, show off for the camera. Joe F. should love the Hawaiian flavor of that guitar..., and, Joe, have faith. The final numbers should be encouraging, given all the promos that were done. I think Fondy's not going to need an extra hand in the pet shop. Just give it time, say three weeks.

Dear Joe:

Sad to hear the news about ratings not been where you wanted them...hope things get better, quoting Sheppard: "Stay possitive"

Question:
why do they remove the patches of the uniform sometimes?

I'm with you in the optimism department Joe, come on fifth season!
Is there somewhere interested people could take a look at the actual ratings?

Any chance on getting the actual ratings number, Joe? It'll out anyway, and if fans need to really make an extra effort to tune in, then they need to know now. If the number is low, then maybe seeing and hearing about it everywhere will scare them enough to make a more concerted effort to watch. So, how about it?

AmberMoon said...

Ummmm....so what were the numbers? Inquiring minds want to know....

Sorry the ratings weren't so good. I'd be interested to know how well your lead in shows did. We tried to watch them, and frankly, they were awful. Weak lead-ins won't help your cause. We thought the show was GREAT!

Dovil said...

Wow! I didn't even recognise DH there, at least not until the last photo. Either heads up to the makeup department or the wrap up party was even better than I realised. Hope he successfully detoxes soon.

Extremely sorry to hear that the ratings didn't wholly reflect how good the episode was, damn it. But hey, key demographics, these are the words that advertisers want to hear and I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed about the fifth season pickup even if it is making typing hell.

Well, maybe we need... *puts cloth away, pulls out silver paint* something more suited for a larger task.

So...now that we've got a plan, we're good. We'll have that pick-up in no time. Don't get fitted for that stock boy apron yet.

Okay, okay, normally I'm not this goofy, it's just I'm tired...and you didn't bring the awesome news we all hoped for. With all the uber-powers people have associated with you, really, I expected rainbows and dancing kittens! Being chased by Lulu and her peeps! Come on, get with the program here!

I hope the show is picked up for season five!

Please, please answer these questions. 1) Is Stargate Continuum set after or before season four of Atlantis? 2) How much time is supposed to have elapsed between Unending and Adrift? 3) Are the Stargate [SG-1 and Atlantis] tie-in novels from Fandemonium canon?

Sorry to hear about the lower than hoped for ratings. I think a lot of Stargate fans [including myself] either don't have cable [it's really expensive] or a nielsen box [who's idea is that anyways?]. I hope iTunes sales help though [when they are selling the right episodes].

Thanks, bye!

Ratings?!

How can you expect us to concentrate on ratings after those two beautiful shots of Mr. Flanigan?

Keirberos said...

>_o

Well, crap. I s'pose it doesn't help that not all the fans are real thrilled about MGM's 'Team Stargate' campaign, so that's probably not doing much...

But, just like someone said, the lead-in shows aren't doing much for y'all either, unlike last year what with the trifecta of two Stargates and Battlestar— it was what, Dr. Who and Flash Gordon last Friday? Dr. Who's great, but it just doesn't have the same kind of following over here, I guess... and Flash, well... Brand new, same deal with the popularity.

Well, here's to hoping the numbers gain momentum as we go!

Though, um... not to change the subject or anything, but...

That's an ...interesting picture of David H, there. He's a crotchety old git, ain't he?

So, your friendly "leak" Sanssong is talking again:

"Keller has a crush on Ronon and that there are some yummy romantic scenes coming for them. They brought her on specifically for him."

"I said before, there is something we don't know and that something is a really really big piece of information." (regarding John/Teyla)

"I'd actually heard some other ones as well, but I don't have confirmation on them so I'll say no more. We have reason to be very happy to see what the writers are doing with John and Teyla as a couple."

"Robert Cooper does write ship, he writes John/Teyla ship! All the moments I've heard described were intended to lead us to one conclusion, John and Teyla are and have been romanticly interested in each other."

And to better know Sanssong's state of mind:

"It's wilfully chosing to ignore the truth that's right in front of their face (non-shippers). And they will probably get worse before they get better. It's very sad when you see people lose touch with reality. It makes me nuts too cause I just think that everyone should see the yumminess that is JT!"

So Joe, Sanssong has been right on the money so far with her "tips from the inside". Are we really going to be subjected to heavy breathing between Ronon and Keller, and Shep and Teyla? Tell me know, so I don't have to bother watching this crap.

By the end of S4 will we know for sure if Sam and Jack are/have been together or not or will the status of their relationship remain ambiguous? And what do the non-fraternization regs say about relationships between military and civilian under their command?

Tesajb said...

Statistics shmatistics. We all know the Scifi genre as we know it would shrivel into a raisin like remnant of its former awesomeness without some form of Stargate around.

And the raisin would then be put into a cookie, making it that much more undesirable.

I love the last picture. That reminds me of the time I got mad at my antique stove and flipped it off. And took a picture.

Ah, memories.

I won't pretend to know all the factors that come into play when a network is deciding whether or not to keep a show, but given the fact that a third Stargate series is in development, it would seem asinine to axe Atlantis -- Stargate Universe's best bet for a lead-in. Though I suppose that thought process is operating upon the misconception that life is logical.

Who is this Nielsen and why is his rating more important that mine?

If TPTB would take a look at the majority of 'Gater forums, they'd realise that there's a WHOLE WORLD of Atlantis fans out there. So why is the series' continuation dependent on the ratings in the US alone?

Yeah, right with the "Team Stargate" crap. It won't allow us "internationals" to join. Why, in this supposedly 'global village' is our contribution discounted?

Dear Mr. Mallozzi,

I am a big fan of Stargate and Atlantis. Unfortunately this post is a bit off topic to the blog, I am sorry. I am also a great fan of the Asgards. Thus I am very sad that they are gone. However the kind of their extinction is IMO, and of many other fans, not the best. It is open to everyone that a shocking even was needed and not much time to write it. Considering these circumstances I can understand the end.
Nonetheless I (strongly) suggest to bring them back, at least with the new series planned. There are many ways thinkable. Their consciences could be in the computers of the Odyssey, they could have faked their death to avoid the Ori thread but still wanted to help the Humans, ... All are (IMO even more) realistic like the end of the Asgard.
It could be also a good PR action to "resurrect" the Asgards for the third series. Perhaps a story arc could be finding a cure for the Asgard (that all would have died in only a few weeks is one of the weakest arguments, especially since they could have incorporated their consciences in computers, which also could be given to the humans). There are so many ways open.
I appologize to make it here public, but no other way I found to contact you (what very likely is wanted by you to stop fan mails like this one ;) ).
I also hope for the next 6 seasons of Atlantis!

Your's faithfully,

Adler

I'm sorry that the ratings weren't all that you hoped for. It really was a great episode.

Do the international viewers count at all? I mean, SGA is on in a lot of countries besides Canada and the US, and even when they're one or two seasons behind it's something that the network should keep in mind, surely*. Or maybe I'm just being naïve.

*I'm pretty sure that JAG (that horrible show about navy lawyers) was saved by the international fanbase.

Everything I can possibly cross is crossed for a season 5 pick up.

Cheers for a great season 4 opening!!!

Not to be negative (and sorry if you're friends with the people who make the show), but Flash Gordon is just crap. I have no idea why I'm watching it, maybe to remind myself how BAD tv can be. Regardless, SG:A seriously needs a better lead-in show. If Flash Gordon weren't so completely juvenile, I would suggest having it and SG:A swap timeslots. But Flash Gordon is so not a 10:00 kind of show.

Here's how having FG in between Dr. Who and SG:A hurts you. Last week, I was getting sick. I really needed to sleep. I totally planned to stay up to watch the SG:A premiere, though. But after Dr. Who, I just couldn't stay awake through FG to get to SG:A. I let my DVR pick up SG:A and went to bed. If SG:A had come on directly after Dr. Who, I would have watched it live. I did leave my TV on Sci-Fi, so both cable receivers were tuned to SG:A when it aired.

Oh, and those picks of DH are fantastic. I seriously had to look at all of them to figure out if it was him or his dad (who he told us recently visited the set). Serious props to the make-up department.

OK, so everyone and their brother asks questions about S4 plots. I really like fun, light-hearted episodes that don't necessarily tie back to any major story-arc. The "stand-alone" episodes of SG-1 are my favorites. We haven't seen many of those on SG:A (and the one ep last season that looked like it was going to be fun turned out to kill Beckett!). Will we see at least one fun, non-arc story this season?

Is it possible that if you do get a season 5 pick-up that SciFi would cut you guys back from 20 episodes to 13? SciFi cut SG1 back from 22 to 20 a few years back. Eureka gets 13 episodes - some fans prefer it some don't. Do you think SciFi would ever consider this? And if they did do that, what would be your feelings about it? Do you think that you could still get all of the stories told in 13 episodes that are important to the series?

I'm sorry that the ratings for Adrift weren't up there. Hopefully there will be an increase in this week's viewership. I wonder if opening premiere week with a lot of high-profile shows caused it to get lost in the shuffle. In any event, in my opinion, Atlantis is the best thing the Sci-Fi Channel has going, so they'd better renew it for another season even if the ratings aren't up there, yet. Hopefully, none of this will matter and Sci-Fi is planning to renew it anyway. Fingers crossed.

Hi Joe,

I for one am not too disheartened by the initial ratings figures - we all really need to wait for the DVR feedback and let the season get properly underway. As you have said yourself, your audience is very web-savvy and the pre-release of the first two episodes plus the iTunes mess-up with Doppelganger won't be helping matters. As SciFi have already invested millions of dollars (I presume), I'm sure they want Atlantis to do well - TPTB like success after all! And 'key demographics' can be as influential as vast numbers - it just depends which demographic!!

As far as the premiere is concerned, we haven't seen it in the UK yet - airs a week today on Sky One (can't wait!!!) but I have to say that Sky are not promoting it very effectively at all unfortunately.

Some good news however - Atlantis is at No.2 on Heynielsen so that must count for something!

Keep positive and thank you for your ever-entertaining blog, a fantastic TV series and, of course, all the choccy tips and advice. Keep it coming!

Lots of love from over the pond
Janie xx

I'd just like to give my feedback on Adrift. First off, the CGI was fantastic and well done. However, the plot was just too far-fetched to really keep my interest. First, there were too many things that went wrong to be remotely believable. Secondly, no asteroid field would ever be that dense (I'm an astronomer), and the probability of flying randomly into an asteroid field in the middle of space is less than 1 in a billion. Lastly, why would they pick a trajectory that would take them TOWARDS the replicator homeworld, from which they were trying to flee. They knew where it was in advance, so why fly right by it?

It was a suspenseful plot, but just about every thing that came up had me saying "yeah right, like that would happen."

All the other episodes are usually pretty good at the plot being at least remotely plausable, but Adrift went way over that boundry.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to "Lifeline" and hope for a Seaon 5 pickup.

Joe,

With luck the people at Sci-fi will look more at the demographics and not the raw numbers. As far as I understand if the right people (right as far as the network people are concerned) then the sheer numbers don't have to as high.

It would also be interesting to see what the other shows ratings were. If yours were/are better then the other shows then Sci-Fi realize that the ratings could be better, they could also be worse.

If we wanted to campaign where do you think we should lobby. Sci-fi to get them to renew or to MGM to continue to produce the show and sell it to another network if Sci-fi decides that it no longer wants to air the show. Would buying the episodes iTunes help convince MGM that there is interest in the show, even the numbers for the Sci-fi airings don't reflect that.

Anonymous said...

Could you please tell us what the ratings were Joe? Michael's episode of "Eureka" got a 1.2, but it was up against the season premier of "House" which pulled a 10.8 and it also overlapped the season premier of "Boston Legal" which was 90 minutes long.

"Atlantis" was up against strong competition too. Considering the competion with Premier week, I would think that SciFi was thrilled with "Eureka" getting a 1.2. If you guys were able to also pull a 1.2 or higher, I would think that SciFi would be really happy with that. Painful Jane and Trash Gordon couldn't pull 1.2's with basically NO competion.

Don't worry Joe. SciFi would have to be nuts to cancel you guys.

Dear Joe,

The numbers would be huge if we Canadians could see Season 4 too. We are left out in the cold again. It totally stinks. Space Channel will be airing Season 3 come January and who knows when we can see Season 4. Probably when the DVD's are released to the Public. Looks like it's downloading city for us Canadians. I know it's wrong but when you are a die hard Stargate Atlantis Fan what can you do?

Can't you use your Executive Producer Muscles and make Space Channel air Season 4 now?

Fran

...So Joe, Sanssong has been right on the money so far with her "tips from the inside". Are we really going to be subjected to heavy breathing between Ronon and Keller, and Shep and Teyla? Tell me know, so I don't have to bother watching this crap....

Please do us all a favor and do stop watching.

Will death be explored more this season?

...Sanssong strikes again, hey? Why doesn't this surprise me?

Joe, she's all over GW talking about her inside knowledge. Does that concern you, or are you happy to let her claim she has inside information?...

I honestly don't think anyone else but you, cares what is going on or being said over at GW. So please keep your theatrics, tattle telling, and don't forget whining over on the GW forum with rest of the lemmings where it belongs.

Have you ever caught an episode of Torchwood? Any opinions?

Oh, for crying out loud.. WHO CARES IF SAM AND JACK ARE 'TOGETHER'????

This is the question for the goddamned movies, not for Atlantis.

If they were 'together', she wouldn't be shipping off to another frigging galaxy.

Hi Joe,

any news when MGM is going to show us the full trailer for "The Ark of Truth" and some promo pics from it? Plus, is there a chance that Canadian Space Channel will air it before it's released on DVD?

Hey Joe,
Since you are in the "business," can you explain why networks are trying to re-tool so many old hit shows into new, "updated" versions? Is it the lack of imagination of the network executives or just the overall decline in writing abilities and imagination of TV writers? There seems to be so much crap on TV today (not including bad reality shows) and all the networks do is jump on the bandwagon of a particular genre that is the "hot" one at the moment until viewers are so overwhelmed that they turn off all TV and do something else.
While I enjoy SGA, even you guys rehash plots from SG-1 (DG=>Cold Lazarus with a twist, Travelers=> Lucian Alliance with a female leader) but at least you do mention it in the episode and do a good job of it. *rolleyes* I hope there are more original plots later on in the season. My suggestion is if you guys get a 5th season, you really need to map out the next 2 or 3 seasons storyline arcs so that people can be stay interested again and stop worrying about how these show will play in syndication!

Production-related question… how common is it for a shot to be flipped in post? It's probably not all that common on Atlantis, thanks to the uniforms and displays with text… but in "Adrift", the closeup of Sheppard playing with Zelenka's suit was rather obviously flipped thanks to the mirrored text.

When this is done, is it just because it "looks better" to the director and/or producers? Or is there some other logic behind it?

OMG Joe, is that "doddering old coot" McKay and if so what episode is it from? Please tell me McKay didn't take on a Wraith...eep!

PS Thanks for the awesome pictures of Joe F! :)

Majorsal writes: “were amanda, david, joe, rachel, and jason at the party too?”

Answer: Yes, they were.

If you took some shots of the main cast, would you post them, please? (No offense to Martin Gero et al.)

Re: 30 Sept blog entry:- Clearly, the gods have conspired against us (I’m not going to point the finger, but Loki has never been a fan of the show).

Us Kiwis in the South Island are saying that this morning as we have had 24 hrs of rain; snow in the Alps and the large hail stones (some up to 6mm diameter) scared 7 lives out of my cat yesterday afternoon.

*thinks* Maybe Thor didn't get the memo, but "Hey Buddy, it's SPRING already!!!"

The LA Times had an article a week or so ago about a Nielson change - they are or soon will be including cable DVR views (i.e. shows not viewed real time) up to three days after airing. I would think/hope this would help the show, yes?

I was over at David's ADB site and there's a discussion about the chain of command on Atlantis. We know Weir is first(duh) and Sheppard is second. We figured McKay is third...but after that we weren't sure. On one episode when Weir, Sheppard and McKay were gone(don't remember which one), we remembered Teyla as being in charge. I figured that must have been Weirs decision as I'm sure it wouldn't be proper chain of command (if there is one from Earth). Unless we just thought Teyla was in command and she really wasn't? Lorne and Zelenka were also mentioned for fourth in command. (no one mentioned Ronon..lol)

So this was long winded...sorry. The questions are:
1.What is the chain of command in Atlantis?
2.How far does it go?

Thanks! Glad to see you had a great time at the party the other night! I went to an Octoberfest on Saturday(yeah..I know it was still September). This was at a friends house and they really went whole hog for the German theme with the food, beer and wine. It was fun to be with friends, but other than the sauerkraut (which I like), I am not much for German food. I liked the strudel though! (figures...anything sweet and full of calories I like..lol)

You know how vamperic the whumpers are. :) I loved the ep, and Evil Shep was so fab, it made me want to smack him upside the head. Always a good sign. Great job, and JF really knocked my socks off. *gets out air freshner* :P So thank you, please pass on my Squee to those that haven't heard it yet. :D Don't worry about S5, it's in the bag *tops up Joe's cup of happiness*

Trust me!

One last thing before I go, and I promised I would ask. Is that David in the pic? If so i'm going to have to eat humble pie... so, if it is, any good recipies that go well with it?

*hugs for the squeeworthy pics*

So I'll love the look of Tabula Rasa, huh? Considering how beautiful everything looked in Adrift and Doppelganger I can't wait... Compliment your DPs for me. They do nice work. :-)

Okay, if the coot IS McKay/Hewlett, it's the best aging makeup I've ever seen from the SG franchise!

I admit it, I didn't care for the makeup for SG-1 "Unending". Looked too much like masks.

But I'll also admit a bias...spent a lot of time around elderly folks in 2006.

Fantastic job on Adrift (as I've said before) and on Doppelganger (which I won't discuss in detail here for obvious reasons).

Would it be okay if I added my two pence worth and asked about the ratings too?

We're dying to know about a 5th season pickup. :S

Thank you,
MB

i care. so do lots of other s/j shippers.

"This is the question for the goddamned movies, not for Atlantis."

sure it could be worked into atlantis. sam's there, so should her life's story.

"If they were 'together', she wouldn't be shipping off to another frigging galaxy."

sure she would. long distance relationship.

my work is done here, thank you. :p

sally :D

ps - btw, joe, lulu told me she wants to have her picture taken with amanda. really.

ps2 - is 'last man' a depressing type episode?

ps3 - this is for elizabeth: amanda tapping said that the two sg1 movies are supposed to happen 'before' sam goes to atlantis.

Joe,

Just wanted to tell you that I thought "Adrift" was one of the strongest episodes of Atlantis I've seen. I thought Joe Flanigan did his best work to date in that episode.

However, if Sheppard allows Rodney to get away with defying his order like that, then he does need somebody over him in authority... being one of the boys does not a good commander make. But then maybe that's your setup.

As far as I'm concerned you couldn't have picked a better scene to have cut out of 'Trio' -- I wouldn't mind if it actually did get lost on the cutting room floor. If I weren't already tired of the subject from SG-1, I would be from all the whining on your blog here.

Joe,
Just wondering...If SGA is not renewed for season 5, could MGM sell it to another network? I know that was not possible for SG1 due to a contract clause with SciFi.

Adrift was awesome!! Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Hey Joe

Thanks so much for the cast photo and the vid of Joe F! They're Fab!!

Really loving season four so far and can't wait to see some more character driven episodes this season!

Hello

Have not seen SGA S4 yet because I live in Australia but I hope it lives up to S3 standard which was excellent and not Sg1 S9 and 10's which was significantly below SG1 S1 - 8's standard which was continuously at a all time high. The reason I say this is because of the addition of Amanda Tapping to the cast. I don't think it will work but I still eagerly await to be proven wrong.

Also, I do agree with the move to bring Jewel Staite and Michael Beach on to the guest star cast payroll as they are both talented actors.

Additionally, It would be cool if for the last couple of episodes in season 5 (if there is a season 5) or a Stargate Atlantis movie, you have a huge space battle against the wraith (or replicators) which includes say 10 Daedalus-Class Ships and a 100 or so F-302's.

Regards

Tyson.
